Menu Planning: Week 1

I have made it a goal to plan out our meals on a weekly basis, so I don't get frustrated when the day starts drawing to a close and I STILL haven't decided what's for dinner, and so we're not tempted to just go out to eat. Last night, I came up with a tentative dinner plan for the week:

Monday:

Chicken Piccata served over pasta
Salad

Tuesday:

Black Bean Soup (new recipe!)
Corn
Watermelon

Wednesday:

Chicken Teriyaki
Stir-fried vegetables
Rice

Thursday:

Tacos with meat, rice, vegetables, beans, etc.

Friday:

Alfredo
Salad
Bread

Of course, I might make a few modifications. We just finished dinner, and it was really nice not stressing about it all day because I already knew what we were having! I'm optimistic that this will work out for us :)

Great idea, Laura! It will save you money and stress. I do a month at a time and throw in a few quick meals in case something comes up and I don't have much time. A crock pot is nice for that, too. After you've done it for a while, you'll find shopping sales and adding to your food storage easier because you know what you use more often. Glad things are going well for you two! Hope to see you soon! Hugs to you both!

I didn't know you read my blog, Maili :)

One of our wedding presents was a crock pot, but I haven't used it yet...I guess I'm still afraid of it.

Hope we see you soon too :)

I don't read often, just sneak in once in a while to see how you two are doing. I have a crock pot recipe book that I love - Fix It and Forget It! The recipes are easy and don't call for strange ingredients. I'll send you a few of our favorite recipes. Don't be afraid of it. It's a busy woman's friend! :)
